MTL Residential

In this latest project, I present my vision on many abandoned buildings of Montreal area. By photographing these places rich in history and high in colors, I want to put in perspective the world setting-up around these locations. Once abandoned, these places let room to animal that came build their nest, the decaying wall became the canvas of graffiti artist, and the squatters find in there a temporary shelter, while the promoters speculate about a condo transformation project.

These beautiful lost places show us the trace of the occasional visitors, but more importantly they hold the mark of the one from people originally animating theses places. Under their time-defeating look, these building present us a true ephemeral spectacle that no one can access. Inside the walls, the nature takes back its place and a new landscape is take places.

With a maximum clarity, these photographs attempt to reproduce the feeling we might have while being inside these buildings. Photography is a medium of choice for me due to its capacity to render realistically the details and temporality of theses explored places.
